When we consider this last beatitude, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,” and the promise of the Kingdom of Heaven, we see in it that Christian life is always an imitation of Christ. As disciples, we “Put on Christ” and are called to be Cross-Bearers with him, with the foundation of the new consciousness cultivated by integrating the Mountaintop Wisdom of the Beatitudes.
