In the passage from 1 Peter today, we hear a call to holiness, to yield to God because we have been chosen, because we are precious to God, because we have known acceptance and redemption. Using the image of stones, the epistle offers us a glimpse of transformation: that light shall be born from darkness, that life and strength and faith can be brought out of the most surprising corners of our world.
