Food and Friends in Murrayville
In the fall of 2025, a productive partnership was established between Langley Meals on Wheels and United Churches of Langley. A series of highly successful and well-attended Food & Friends 55+ gatherings took place monthly at our Murrayville site.
Beginning in September 2026, Food & Friends will expand to every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at our church, with a break during the summer months.
About Food & Friends
The Langley Meals on Wheels Food & Friends 55+ program is a cornerstone of community engagement for older adults in Langley. Hosted at various locations throughout the community, these events provide a welcoming space where seniors can enjoy a delicious meal, build new friendships, reconnect with familiar faces, and access valuable information and resources.
More than just a lunch program, Food & Friends helps reduce social isolation, foster meaningful connections, and strengthen community among older adults.
What to Expect:
- Nutritious Meals: Enjoy a variety of healthy, homemade dishes prepared with care.
- Social Interaction: Meet new people, catch up with friends, and enjoy lively conversations.
- Activities or Presentations: Participate in fun activities and listen to guest speakers or performers.
- Support: Access information and resources that can help enhance your quality of life.
Registration and Cost
Lunch is $8 per person, payable in cash at the door.

Season Opening Open House
Our 2026-2027 season kicks off on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, with a special Open House and complimentary lunch for all attendees.
All participants are invited to bring their ideas for:
- Guest speakers
- Entertainment
- Craft activities
- New programs and experiences
